A Comment About Homosexuality

I just read an article about homosexuality. I must say, I was so disappointed because a friend told me he is a good writer. In my opinion, a good writer must first know what SHE/HE is talking about. Her/his material should be well-researched and unbiased. And lastly, she/he should be consistent with what he's talking about. This is not something against the writer. This is just a comment. I'm just speaking my mind out just as the writer did when she/he wrote this article. So nothing personal, just in case.

In the beginning of the writer's article, she/he excluded the gay people with proper decorum from her/his criticisms. However, in the end of her/his article, it seems that being a homosexual is a disease that must be eradicated at once. This interpretation is only based on my understanding of her/his article. This is not putting-words-in-her/his-mouth kind of thing. This is just my opinion, so correct me if I'm wrong.

The writer also mentioned something about the virility of males and the gracefulness of the females. In my opinion, this is not just speaking about the homosexuals, but also the females, being the weaker gender. It seems like she/he does not like the idea of a female-dominated society. I'm not saying that females must not be graceful. It's just that, is gracefulness the only definition of being a female and virility for males? It's just disturbing for me to think that people are not free to be whoever they wanted to be. Again, this is not putting-words-in-her/his-mouth kind of thing for the writer. And again, this is just my opinion.

According to the writer "Let us be warned against the gay population, which is per se a compromise between the strong and the weak and therefore only somewhat and not the absolute of either of the two qualities". Let's be warned for what? Is homosexuality some kind of virus that kills the humanity? Imagine a society that has only an absolute strong person and an absolute weak person. There are two words that come out of mind: CHAOS & CONQUEST. I believe a person must have these 2 qualities to really "live" as a real person. If a person is absolutely strong, there will be no more space for mistakes for her/him to become a better person. She/he is so strong, there is no weakness. I believe that the only absolute strong being is GOD. If a person is absolutely weak, what kind of life does she/he have? Just like what Harry Potter: Goblet Of Fire's Mr. Moody told Harry. Something like: "you must at least be good at something" (Sorry, if I was not able to quote him exactly. But the sense is like that when he was teaching Harry how to defeat his dragon). Again, this is just my opinion. Just correct me, if I'm wrong.

I respect the writer's opinion about this matter. However, I think the article could be justified if she/he could have toned-down his thoughts about homosexuals. Being a homosexual is not a disease. It is not even a choice. God made homosexuals that way for a reason we don't know. May be to commit sins and eventually realize it and become a real man or whatever. Everyone has their purpose on earth including homosexuals. May be the saying, "Don't judge a book for you are not a judge" is true. Don't try to say things about other people's lifestyle with full conviction if you are not an expert on that matter. Gender is a high-level issue. Maybe a debate of a lifetime is not enough to close both sides' arguments. There were even books dedicated solely for gender issues. There is not even an exact science to discuss this matter. So let's not "warn" or "alert" the people of something that is not to be warned or alert of. It's just like when a lawyer told you that you have a cancer. Would you believe her/him?

Again, this blog is just my opinion. I respect the writer's opinion. She/he just spoke his mind out. I just simply spoke mine.

My Favorite Things!

I love the musical "Cats" by Andrew Lloyd Webber. I like "Prologue: Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats". From morning 'til night. A very difficult song to memorize. Because of that, Mina is one of us now (Jellicle cats). Harharhar! When you hear it, the lyrics seem the same from start to finish but everything's different. My next favorite song from the musical is "Macavity, The Mystery Cat". I love the duet of the characters of Demeter and Bombalurina. Love it, love it, love it! Hahaha! I also like "Rum Tum Thugger", "Mungojerrie And Rumpelteazer" and of course "Memory" by the characters of Grizabella and Jemima. If ever Cats will re-open on broadway, I will definitely join!

My second favorite addiction now is the teddy bear given to us by SGV as souvenir from the Firm's 60th Anniversary. I got the silver one. Yipee! I named him/her "Jellicle Beary".

I got to share some stories with Jen this afternoon and I find her a sensible conversationalist. Our conversation started when she asked me whether I have The Corrs CD's. After that, we talked about the music of our high school days. And then, we talked about our future plans, etc. etc. etc. It's just shameful that we only got that moment to talk about a lot of things when she's about to leave the Firm. *Sigh*

This is it for now! More to come!

It's Friday

I feel relieved that it's already Friday evening. This day was an "ok" day for me. I have finally completed encoding the 15 hotels for the hotel trends (pasaway ang Sulo Hotel kasi kahapon lang nila ginawa ang May & June data). Anyhow, I woke up this morning still disturbed with the I-will-pout-my-lips-and-I'm-so-beautiful-with-it look of Keira Knightly in the Pirates of the Caribbean. I thought that she's just exaggerating it so she will look sexy. But eventually, I think it's her natural look. Oh well, she still looks beautiful. Actually, I think we're kinda look alike. Hahaha! Joke only! I also woke up singing in my head Tina Arena's "That's The Way A Woman Feels". The song is so catchy. I love it so much!

Thank goodness, this is not a "typical ngarag" day in SGV. I learned Rondz's Theory of Negativity. That's a new challenge for me (grabe, kailangan ng matinding concentracion). At least, bago man lang siya umalis, nalaman ko yun. Thanks Rondz! I WILL miss you!

I bought the pirated DVD version of High School Musical a while ago and I watched it with Mina. Mina was the least person I expect to appreciate the movie. To my surprise, I think she's more addicted now than anyone who has been addicted to High School Musical (When There Was Me And You). That's alright Mina, you will find your OWN love story. Even better than that of Troy & Gabriella. I saw Jem bought the DVD. I hope she will like it too as much as EVERBODY liked it.

I'm now about to go home and looking forward to watch High School Musical AGAIN at home. OK! 'Til my next blog! (Buti na lang good mood ako today. Baka puro mura ang blog ko kapag the "typical ngarag" day ngayon. *Sigh*)
